Repost-Dragon Bridge in Da Nang, Vietnam

Dragon Bridge Da Nang Vietnam

Stretching more than 600 metres across the Hàn River in central Vietnam, the Dragon Bridge opened in 2013 and quickly became an icon of its city. Part of its popularity is due to the six lanes of traffic that carry people from the airport to Da Nang’s city centre, but much of the span’s appeal lies in its extraordinary ornamentation.

The huge gold dragon, curving its way over and under the bridge, is an impressive sight during the day, but after dark it really comes alive. Almost literally. A colour-changing light show illuminates the bridge, and on certain nights the dragon actually bellows smoke and spits fire. In this city, getting from point A to point B can be a nearly mythical experience.
