Repost-Lovingly, or: All we have in common

Poetry Partners #86

A poem by Anne Morrigan of ‘Anne A p a r t’

Anne Morrigan
I fell in love Precisely
because you asked me not to
said I was foolish
one of thousands
a fly in your soup
Common.
but you had to concede
that you revealed
yourself to me
so what I could not control
I reveled in
thinking, one day
I’ll tell you
what all we have in
Common.

David ben Alexander

One day, I’ll tell you what all we have
in common when you return forsaken;
defeated; perhaps not of your own volition.

One day, I’ll tell you what all we have in
common. Perhaps you’ll harumph (as you
do); plug your ears; sing loudly: ‘La-lala-lala!’

I’ll tell of lovingly distilling life.
