Eid-ul-Adha 2018-Hadith Freedom

What is Qurbani?

Once, our beloved Prophet (saw) was asked, “What is Qurbani?” The Prophet (saw) answered: “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (as). For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah (swt).”

When is Eid-ul-Adha 2018?

The tenth day of the month marks the start of Eid-ul-Adha (also spelled Eid al Adha) and the Feast of the Sacrifice, when every strand of hair on the Qurbani delivers a reward from Allah (swt). In 2018, it will start on the 21st of August and finish, after 4 days, on the 25th.

Dhul Hijjah itself is a very sacred month, when the largest annual gathering of people in the world takes place from the 8th-12th for the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and the Kaaba – itself built by Ibrahim (as) and Ismail (as).

Whether you’re celebrating Eid with your loved ones or joining our pilgrim brothers on the sacred journey to Mecca, let us not forget the poor and the needy this Eid.

Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Freedom
Anas b. Malik (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: It would be said to the non-believers on the Day of Resurrection: If you were to possess gold, filling the whole earth, would you like to secure your freedom by paying that? He would say: Yes. Thereupon it would be said to him: Something easier (than this) was demanded from you (but you paid no heed to it).

(Sahih Muslim, Book 52, Hadith 39)

Try not to have any regrets. This whole life is akin to sitting an exam paper. Sometimes, when you walk out of the exam hall, some of us have regrets. ‘If only we had studied that little bit harder’ but it’s too late then. The same goes for this life. Try not to have regrets. Make the effort before it’s too late. Deal? 🙂

Thank-you for reading and have a blessed day and just before you go, say Alhamdulillah and start your day by earning blessings 🙂
